Let Go

When you tell yourself that you must have THIS business deal, THIS relationship, THIS political candidate, THIS home, THIS job -- you limit yourself. When you tell yourself that you must have something external to you, you make that thing your god. You are saying that IT is the source of your well-being.

Desire is fine, but let go. You cannot know what is in your own best interests. You cannot see into the future. Years ago Garth Brookes sang a song -- "Thank God for Unanswered Prayers."  It's true. Pursue your desires, but be open to other possibilities. Desire should always have a little detachment with it. When you intend for a specific goal -- always add  "This or something better than this."

One of the most powerful prayers is "Thy will be done."  With these four words you set aside your ego; you trust that what is absolutely best for you will occur; and you expect the best. This is not a prayer of resignation. It is a prayer of absolute faith that you are moving toward your highest good.
